Code of Ethics Resources

The National Association of REALTORS® requires ALL REALTOR® members to complete an approved Code of Ethics class once every three-year cycle.  This requirement applies to all Brokers, Affiliate Brokers and Appraisers. The current Code of Ethics three cycle began on January 1, 2019 and ends on December 31, 2021.

This is not the same as the TREC Core course, and is separate from TREC’s license renewal requirements.  Therefore, even members who are “grandfathered” and exempt from taking continuing education by TREC must take this class.  Only members granted REALTOR® Emeritus status by NAR prior to December 31, 2019 are exempt from this requirement.

IMPORTANT:  As one of two new member requirements, New Applicants to Greater Nashville REALTORS® must complete a Code of Ethics class within 90 days of submitting an application.  The Code of Ethics class taken as part of the new member requirements will also meet NAR’s mandate for the cycle in which the class is taken.  If you are a New Applicant and are required to complete a Code of Ethics class as part of your new member requirements.

Ways to Meet the Requirement

Code of Ethics must be completed between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2021. Code of Ethics taken in the classroom is three hours of continuing education credit.
