NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 10, 2018) – Amy Cannon with Cannontown Real Estate has been named the 2017 REALTOR® of the Year by Greater Nashville REALTORS®, according to association President Sher Powers.
The Realtor® of the Year award is presented annually to the association’s Realtor® member who has made the most significant contribution to their clients, the real estate profession and the community. Cannon was awarded the honor for her commitment to professionalism, clients and the real estate industry at the association’s annual Awards of Excellence Gala held Saturday, March 10, at the Omni Nashville. The 2016 recipient, Cindy Stanton, presented Cannon with the award.
“Amy loves building community and encouraging others to network and has been the connector for many long-term collaborations and friendships,” said Greater Nashville REALTORS® President Sher Powers. “She is a generous person, prone to giving unexpected gifts that are memorable and touching. Her efforts to serve others, in every way possible, make our industry and association better.”
Cannon is a seasoned veteran of the real estate business, with 23 years of experience. She has been both an agent and managing broker, and now is the owner/broker of her own firm. She has been a member of the association since 1995, serving on multiple committees, as well as the board of directors. She is a graduate of the 2009 class of the association’s Leadership Academy and chaired the Convention Committee for Tennessee REALTORS® in 2017.
Cannon takes a casually professional approach to serving her clients. Her goal is to make each client feel comfortable and at ease going through the process of buying or selling a home. She holds a Master Negotiating Expert Certification, which allows her to work strategically for her clients during the negotiation phase of a real estate transaction.
Cannon’s passion for the industry and serving clients goes beyond her own business. She created the “The Breakfast Club,” a group of 25 fellow Realtors® representing 17 different firms who meet monthly. The group focuses on buyer needs and coming properties, as well as industry changes and tips to better serve clients.
Cannon is also active in the community. She is a supporter of Room at the Inn, as well as Preston Taylor and Front Porch Ministries. She is also a member of Judson Baptist Church.
A native of Sneedville, Tennessee, she and her husband, Preston, have two children. When she’s not serving clients, Cannon enjoys playing with her dogs and traveling. She also dabbles in stand-up comedy, as she enjoys making everyone around her laugh.
