Early voting for the August 4 primary election ends on Saturday, July 30. If you haven't registered to vote, you won't be able to vote in the August primary but you still have time to register before the upcoming November election. On the ballot for the August 4 primary elections are state and federal candidates, which include:
- Each party's candidate for governor
- All 99 of Tennessee's State House Seats
- Half of Tennessee's 33 State Senate Seats
- All of Tennessee's US House of Representative Seats
- All five seats on the Tennessee Supreme Court
The general election for local races includes:
- School board members, mayors and judges
- Local ballot initiatives
Voters in Nashville will have the opportunity to vote for or against four proposed amendments to the Metro Charter. Below are the amendments voters will see on their ballots:
- Charter Amendment 1: Voter Referendums and Amending Metro Charter
- Charter Amendment 2: Police Department Employee Qualifications
- Charter Amendment 3: Metro Board of Health
- Charter Amendment 4: Creation of a standalone Nashville Department of Transportation
