Last week, Greater Nashville REALTORS® members rolled up their sleeves and picked up their hammers for our association’s 29th Habitat for Humanity build. For nearly three decades, we’ve partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville to bring the dream of homeownership to life for local families — and every year, this project reminds us why that dream matters so much.
This is one of the longest-standing partnerships with Habitat for Humanity in the region, and it’s one I am deeply proud to be a part of. It’s more than a build day — it’s a tradition of compassion, collaboration, and commitment to community. Each home we help build represents not just shelter, but stability. Not just walls and a roof, but opportunity, dignity, and hope.
The partnership between our association and Habitat for Humanity is rooted in a shared belief: that everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. As REALTORS®, we understand the transformative power of homeownership — how it can anchor families, create generational wealth, and strengthen neighborhoods. Habitat understands this, too, and works tirelessly to make homeownership accessible for those who need it most.
The families who benefit from these homes are not just recipients — they are partners in the process. They invest hundreds of hours of sweat equity, work alongside volunteers, and attend homeowner education classes to prepare for success. By the time they receive their keys, they’ve earned much more than a house. They’ve earned a fresh start and a foundation for a better future.
Every volunteer, every dollar raised, and every nail driven in represents our association’s deep commitment to the values that define us: service, community, and the belief that homeownership should be within reach for everyone.
As we look ahead to our 30th build, I encourage all of our members to continue showing up — with their time, their tools, and their hearts. Because when we build together, we build something far greater than just a home. We build a stronger, more connected Greater Nashville.
