Ethical Recruiting and the Law of Attraction

In the fast-paced world of real estate, it’s easy to get caught up in numbers—how many agents a brokerage has, how many deals are closed, and how fast the growth happens. But in my years of experience, I’ve seen that numbers alone don’t create lasting success.

What truly matters is the foundation of trust, care, and support that a brokerage provides. Sadly, I’ve also witnessed people leave environments that nurture their long-term growth for ones that prioritize quick wins. Often, these choices come from a desire for immediate gratification, but they can lead to missed opportunities for deeper, more sustainable success.

The Consequences of Chasing Numbers

I’ve seen agents drawn to flashy offers and promises of higher gains or easier paths to success. While these offers may seem tempting, they often lack the genuine support and mentorship that agents need to thrive over the long term.

Leaving a brokerage that invests in you as a person—one that provides training, accountability, and a supportive community—can be a step away from true growth. Choosing short-term perks over long-term development may not only hurt the agent but also limit their ability to reach their full potential.

The Value of Ethical Recruiting

In my journey, I’ve prioritized building teams and relationships that go beyond the surface. Ethical recruiting isn’t about convincing someone to join; it’s about creating a space where people feel supported, valued, and aligned with a shared mission.

Some things that I’ve learned about ethical recruiting are that it prioritizes people over numbers by focusing on the well-being and success of individuals rather than by meeting quotas. This approach ensures the right fit for both parties. Additionally, success is built on a foundation of strong support. Brokerages that invest in agents’ training, health, and personal development enable them to build not only a career but a fulfilling life. Finally, culture plays a pivotal role as well because a positive, collaborative culture isn’t just nice to have; it’s necessary for anyone looking to grow in a meaningful way.

Attracting the Right People with Intention

The law of attraction has taught me that the energy we put out into the world determines what we receive in return. When a brokerage operates with integrity and intention, it naturally attracts individuals who align with those values.

Putting this principle into practice begins with defining your vision. I’ve found that being clear about the kind of environment I want to create helps attract agents who share that vision. The right people recognize and are drawn to spaces where they can thrive authentically. Additionally, staying true and remaining consistent in your values—both as a leader and as a company—builds trust. People gravitate toward honesty and authenticity, and that’s where meaningful relationships begin. There’s enough success to go around. Operating with an abundance mindset allows us to recruit and build without desperation, creating a team that grows naturally and sustainably.

A Lesson for All of Us

What I’ve come to see is that leaving a place that genuinely cares for you to chase superficial promises often leads to regret. Agents may not always realize the depth of support they’re leaving behind until it’s gone.

For me, the focus remains on creating and sustaining an environment where people are valued as individuals—not just as numbers on a recruitment sheet. Even when people make choices that take them away from this environment, I choose to honor their journey. Ultimately, they must find their own path.

A Vision for the Future

I believe the future of real estate lies in ethical, intentional relationships. When agents and brokerages focus on trust, mutual growth, and shared success, everyone benefits.

The law of attraction reminds us that the energy we put into the world shapes what comes back to us. By building teams with care, fostering an environment of support, and staying true to our values, we can create something lasting—not just for ourselves, but for everyone we touch along the way.
