A Year of Gratitude and Growth

In January of this year, I began my one-year term serving as the president of Greater Nashville REALTORS®, a title I’ve gained immense pride from over the course of 2025. Just a few weeks ago, I attended my final event as president of this world-class association, which serves more than 6,800 Realtors across Middle Tennessee, at our annual Member Luncheon and Board of Directors Installation.

Standing on stage at the Country Music Hall of Fame – Nashville’s skyline towering behind me – I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the experience and for the work each of our members does every day to make homeownership possible for the residents of this growing city.

Reflecting on this past year – filled with challenges, triumphs, and meaningful change – one thing I know for certain is that this association and its dedicated members are well-equipped to lead this city into a bright future, no matter the challenges or inevitable changes that come our way.

As the city of Nashville and the Greater Nashville region continue to grow, we will continue to experience challenges, particularly when it comes to affordability and housing supply. Many are left wondering whether they will ever be able to afford to live in the city so many of us love. While these challenges are real, our REALTOR® association and its members are always at the table pushing for solutions.

Whether it’s through zoning efforts that allow for thoughtful densification at the local level or advocating for a higher capital gains exclusion at the federal level, Realtors are making their voices heard and leading the conversation from Memphis to Mountain City.

While this chapter approaches its closing point, it has been an honor to serve our REALTORS® over this past year. I look forward to seeing incoming president Jack Gaughan take the mantle as the thoughtful and tireless leader I know him to be. Our members are in excellent hands, and the real estate industry will be better because of it, because I know he and the next generation of Realtors will continue to advocate for both Realtors and consumers next year and for many more to come.
