Late last month, unprecedented ice, snow, and prolonged below-zero temperatures from Winter Storm Fern left hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans without power. As temperatures plunged and conditions worsened, homes and properties across the state sustained widespread damage, creating significant challenges for families and communities alike.
While the road to recovery is just beginning, the REALTOR® community remains committed to stepping up and supporting those affected. In times of crisis, REALTORS® have a long-standing tradition of helping neighbors rebuild, recover, and find stability.
To ensure the real estate community can always say “yes” to those in need, the Realtors Relief Foundation (RRF) was established more than 20 years ago. RRF provides housing-related financial assistance to individuals and families impacted by disasters, helping cover critical needs such as temporary shelter, mortgage relief, and essential repairs.
Through a partnership with the National Association of REALTORS®, as well as state and local REALTOR® associations, all administrative costs are fully covered. This ensures that 100 percent of every donation goes directly to disaster relief efforts, maximizing the impact for those who need it most.
If you or someone you know has been affected by Winter Storm Fern, help is available. Our partners at Tennessee REALTORS® are currently accepting applications for housing assistance from residents in all Tennessee counties impacted by the storm.
Since its founding, the Realtors Relief Foundation has distributed more than $43 million in aid, helping over 23,000 families nationwide recover after disasters. This vital work is made possible through the generosity of REALTORS® and the broader REALTOR® organization family.
